Milne Dam Conservation Park

Milne Dam Conservation Park is a gorgeous area that has many scenic views. Its 123 hectare ( 303 ac) size makes it Markham’s largest park located on the Milne Reservoir, which gives this green space its name - meaning “small mouth” in French. The thick forest borders eastward towards Newmarket while southwards meets Rouge river running through here, making for an amazing landscape scene you'll never want to leave anytime soon.

The Milne Dam Conservation Park is located on one of the many lakes that form part of our beautiful Rouge National Park and is planned to become a key component in creating an extensive trail network for runners, cyclists, or anyone looking forward to outdoor adventures.

Milne Dam Conservation Park is a small but beautiful park named after two men, Peter and Alexander Milne. The family who operated this mill in the 1820s had grown up to include not just their own business of selling goods like food or clothing but also included an ironworks where they manufactured tools for farming purposes. In 1911-1912 there became what we now know as “The Great Depression." This period saw one grandson take over from another - Archie becoming owner/operator at age 27 while his father ran things until he retired six years prior.

If you visit Markham and want to see some amazing birds, this is the place for you. You can watch all types of migratory or resident species here. The best times are early morning and evening when they're less active, so don’t miss out on your chance of seeing these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. Migrating bird watching doesn't get more intimate than that, so head down today if you are interested in seeing these feathered friends fly overhead while getting some fresh air.

If you and your friends are in Markham and are seeking a place to get away from it all, this 2.3 kilometers long trail at Milne Dam Conservation Park may be just what your mind needs. You can take advantage of their jogging and cycling trails as well- if those activities aren't quite challenging enough (or perhaps because they enjoy being outside too much). They also have an old picnic shelter with 100 seats inside, making sense when hosting family events or large gatherings like birthdays - no need to worry about where people will sit down during meal times anymore.

Situated at 8251 McCowan Rd, Markham, ON L3P, Canada, the Milne Dam Conservation Park is among the best-kept treasures in Markham, Ontario. Picnic areas are spread throughout, with a permit required for each picnic, but if you're looking to fish or just enjoy nature close up, this place will not disappoint.
